demanding wireless communications industry in 1987. Building on years of experience and accumulated technical skills, Sungmi Telecom has since met with steady success in developing and supplying the latest in wireless transmission equipment. In particular, the area of wire and wireless transmission is becoming one of the fastest growing markets in the nation's telecommunications field, owing to the emergence of new local-call service provider and new services including PCS and Digital Leased-line Services, and the change from monopoly to competition in mobile communication market. This Wireless market has also become a new strategic challenge for Sungmi Telecom.

Since 1987, Sungmi Telecom has supplied the local market with Digital Microwave equipment of diverse frequencies, high capacity Synchronous Microwave equipment, 512QAM Digital Microwave equipment, Subscriber Radio transmission equipment(SR-500), which greatly contributed to seamless communications in remote islands and mountainous areas by providing wireless communications services to these territories, and other various wireless equipment, leading the nation in improving the domestic wireless industry which is relatively underdeveloped when compared with other developed countries. More recently, Sungmi Telecom has developed a diverse array of repeaters for Mobile and PCS service operators in making the coverage wider and providing high quality mobile communication services at low cost, as well as SMAT-260(Seashore & Marine Automatic Telephone) which provides high quality mobile communications services linking coastal vessels to land. The company is providing diverse models of Repeaters including ones which utilize the unused frequency in service area, M/W Repeaters using M/W link, and Repeaters using fiber optic cable to provide the most suitable Mobile communication services taking into consideration the condition of the customers service needs and applications. In addition, Sungmi Telecom was successful in developing in-house, W-CDMA WLL(Wireless Local Loop) which provides wireless connection between carrier's network and user terminals rapidly and at low cost, making diverse applications possible, once again proving Sungmi Telecom's outstanding technology in the field of wireless communication.

Sungmi Telecom is currently pursuing development work in the latest technology of the future including MMDS(Multichannel Multipoint Distribution System), HFR(Hybrid Fiber Radio), IMT-2000 among others for the ideal realization of wireless communications in the future where the sharing of desired information can be possible at anytime, anywhere, and with anyone.
