1. Overview

The ITX “Internet Telephony eXchange” series links the traditional telephony network to IP networks, which is developed by cooperators Korea Telecom and EASTEL SYSTEMS, allowing reduction in toll charge, network consolidation, and enabling new applications. The ITX series is composed of ITG (Internet Telephony Gateway), CMS (Call Management Server) and SMT (System Maintenance Terminal). The ITG provides all the features required to deliver high quality voice and fax services over IP networks. The CMS controls calls between different ITGs by means of subscriber authentication, call routing, address translation, admission control, bandwidth control and zone management. SMT operates and manages the system and also processes the billing information and statistics. In addition, SMT provides the GUI environment for operators.

Excellent Voice Quality
ITX provides excellent near toll quality voice through the use of echo cancellation and voice compression techniques optimized for the environment of IP networks. ITU G.165 compliant echo cancellation results in clear, crisp sound quality, even in a conference environment with two people speaking at once. PC to phone communications are supported through the use of the IP Telephony Client Application, Microsoft NetMeeting.

Real-Time Fax
An optional component to the ITG, real-time fax capability allows users to immediately send faxes from any fax machine and receive instant confirmation once the fax has been received.
Auto-dectection of fax calls ensures that any port on the ITG can be used for either voice or fax.
